No garden, from cottage to contemporary, is really complete without at least a few of these whimsical flowering shrubs. Their intoxicating fragrance, beautiful form, and ease of care makes roses hard to resist. As the symbol of love, they have inspired musicians, poets, and authors. Shakespeare alone mentioned roses more than 50 times in his poems and plays.
