CAPE HENRY LIGHTHOUSE

Fort Story
Virginia Beach, Virginia

Standing tall and guarding the entrance into the Chesapeake Bay is the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse near the shore where English Colonists first set foot in Virginia. Constructed in 1792, it was the first lighthouse authorized by the United States Government. In 1872, the lighthouse was deemed unsafe and a new lighthouse was funded and erected only 350 feet away from the old lighthouse.

Heirloom Ornaments are limited edition, hand painted keepsakes sold exclusively at McDonald Garden Center. These two-sided ornaments celebrate LOCAL sites & attractions unique to Hampton Roads and surrounding areas.
