Escape to spring at our 21st annual Outdoor Show - Hampton Roads premier home and garden show! You’ll find inspiring ideas and creative options for flowering plants, trees, shrubs, edibles, outdoor furniture and so much more. This two-day extravaganza will have ongoing demonstrations designed for all gardening interests with the latest tips and techniques from landscape designers, horticulturists, environmental experts and other professionals.

ADMISSION IS FREE, held rain or shine. The show is held indoors and under heated tents at the McDonald Garden Center Hampton location at 1139 W. Pembroke Avenue located near downtown Hampton. Come see what's blooming and escape to spring at your local garden center!

Saturday, February 28

9:30am - SOLUTIONS FOR MOLES & VOLES
by James Dalton

11:00am - THE BUTTERFLY GARDEN
by Joni Carlson, a local butterfly enthusiast from Surry, specializing in educating others on the ease and joy of butterfly gardening.

12:30pm - FLOWERBED DESIGN
by Mike Bender, a Virginia Certified Horticulturist with extensive experience in landscape design and plant care. Mike joined the McDonald team in 2003 where he manages our trees & shrubs department.

2:00pm - BACKYARD BEEKEEPING
by Andy Westrich from Hampton Apiary. Andy has been beekeeping for 9 years and is a member of the Colonial Beekeepers Association and the Virginia State Beekeepers Association.

3:30pm - DON'T BE A CHICKEN: Chickens for Beginners
by Backyard Hen Activists, Sharon Jackson from Portsmouth and Wendy Camacho from Chesapeake. Both assisted in having the ordinances changed in their prospective cities and together they offer outreach and educational classes at local libraries and Norfolk Botanical Garden.
